Joshua Greene, M.D., FAAO
Dr. Greene is a board certified ophthalmologist with subspeciality training in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, Scheie Eye Institute, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He also spent his first year in practice as the Director of Vitreoretinal Surgery at the VA Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. He is now specializing in Retinal care, including all of the latest medical and surgical treatments for diabetic retinal disease and macular degeneration.
Dr. Greene was raised in Philadelphia and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Pittsburgh, where he graduated magna cum laude. He was admitted to several academic honor societies as an undergraduate including Golden Key, Tri-Beta and Alpha Epsilon Delta, for distinguished pre-medical students. He received his MD from the Temple University School of Medicine where he was a member of the Medical Outreach Society. He did his Medical Internship at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, followed by Ophthalmology Residency at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, NY, where he was Chief Resident from 2004-2005. Following residency, he did a Surgical Retina fellowship at Indiana University.
His research has yielded several published articles, in addition to presentations at the American Society of Retina Specialists in New York and San Diego.
